Henri Kagan と Kenso Soai は、2026年のノーベル化学賞を受賞し、分子の手性に存在する微細な非対称性がどのように拡大され、一方的手性の分子が overwhelmingly 生成されるかを発見した。この研究は、生命の同手性がどのように出現するかを説明するものであり、彼らの仕事により、手性触媒が非線形的に小さな不均衡を拡大し、ほぼ排他的に一方の鏡像構造を生成できることが示された。
