Openreach adds national 800G services using Ciena optical technology
Openreach is adding Ciena Waveserver platforms powered by WaveLogic 6 to its Optical Spectrum Extended Access portfolio. The deployment supports 400G and 800G client traffic over 1.6 Tbps wavelengths and introduces national 800G services for Openreach wholesale customers.
Why it matters. The upgrade expands high-capacity wholesale connectivity options for UK data centers, cloud networks, subsea links and other infrastructure customers.
