ESRB warns EU authorities of frontier AI cyber risks to financial stability

The European Systemic Risk Board issued a formal warning that frontier AI models could increase the speed, scale and sophistication of cyberattacks against the EU financial system, and urged authorities to account for these risks in supervisory work. Sweden’s Riksbank and Financial Supervisory Authority also called on financial institutions to strengthen risk management and operational resilience.
