Japanese August Household Survey: Consumer Spending Falls for 9 Consecutive Months

A survey by Japan's Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications showed that consumption expenditure in households with two or more people in August decreased by 3.1% from the same period last year after removing the effects of price changes, marking the ninth consecutive month of decline.
