Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey Activate Mutual Defense Pact

Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey activated a mutual defense pact in response to Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, marking the first time the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement has been invoked since its signing in August.

Why it matters. The activation of the mutual defense pact could significantly alter the dynamics of the Saudi-Houthi conflict and strengthen Saudi Arabia's defense against Houthi attacks.
