New 2-in-1 Approach Captures Toxic Metals and Recovers Rare Earth Elements from Wastewater

Researchers from IIT Gandhinagar, University of Cambridge, and University of Birmingham developed a protocol using metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) to capture toxic metals and recover rare earth elements from wastewater, published in Nature Protocols.

Why it matters. This breakthrough could improve water remediation and circular resource applications, reducing environmental pollution and waste.
