NASA's SpaceX Crew 12 to undock from ISS and return to Earth

NASA's SpaceX Crew 12 is scheduled to undock from the International Space Station on Oct. 7 and splashdown off the coast of California on Oct. 8, marking the end of their eight-month mission.

Why it matters. The crew's return affects ongoing research and experiments aboard the ISS, and signals the start of a new mission with Crew 13.
