Russia continues attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure and NATO assets amid stalled peace talks

Russia has maintained attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure, cutting power to around 600,000 people, while Ukraine paused strikes on Russian refineries during a U.S.-brokered ceasefire moratorium before resuming them. Simultaneously, Russian hybrid aggression escalated with drone strikes on NATO-member Romania’s Black Sea shipping and a Russian satellite maneuvering close to a U.S.-linked commercial SAR satellite supporting Ukraine.

Why it matters. The ongoing violence and expanding frontiers of conflict—from energy grids to maritime and space domains—undermine ceasefire efforts and increase risks of broader NATO-Russia confrontation, affecting regional stability and civilian safety.
