Fighting expands in Yemen as attacks target airports
Yemen’s Transport Ministry said Houthi missiles and drones targeted Aden International Airport during intensified fighting between Houthi forces and government forces backed by Saudi-led coalition air support. The coalition said it intercepted a missile north of Riyadh, while Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree claimed the group also targeted King Khalid International Airport; Saudi authorities had not confirmed that claim. Israel also launched strikes in Gaza, where Palestinian officials reported two deaths.
Why it matters. The reported attacks raise risks to civilian air travel and regional security, including around key Red Sea and Gulf transport routes.
