Increase in Solar Generation with Co-located Battery Storage

The share of new utility-scale solar capacity co-located with battery storage has increased from 2% in 2017 to over 16% in 2026, with plans to reach 19% this year and over 30% in 2027 and 2028.

Why it matters. This trend affects the energy sector by improving the flexibility and value of solar power in managing wholesale electricity prices.
