Italy’s preliminary inflation rate rises to 4.2% in September
Italy’s preliminary consumer price index rose 4.2% year over year in September 2026, up from 3.3% in August, and increased 0.7% month over month. The statistical release attributed the acceleration mainly to higher energy and unprocessed food prices; core inflation rose to 1.7%.
